We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Pre-Construction Manager to support the delivery of pre-construction activities across complex cladding remediation projects.

Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating PCSA activities, supporting design and technical development, managing information, and helping to de-risk projects ahead of delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to high-value, complex schemes while developing your expertise across programme, design, commercial, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Programme & PCSA Support

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of PCSA programmes covering surveys, design, approvals, and procurement
  • Support coordination meetings, track actions, and maintain key project trackers
  • Help manage PCSA deliverables, ensuring submissions are completed on time and to the required standard
  • Contribute to monthly reporting on progress, risks, and programme status

Scope Definition & Technical Coordination

  • Support the translation of Employer’s Requirements into defined scopes of work
  • Assist in coordinating intrusive surveys and investigations
  • Help collate technical information, compliance data, and design inputs
  • Support the development of remedial strategies and option appraisals

Design Process Support

  • Assist in managing the design process, including tracking design deliverables and programme
  • Support design team coordination and help close out design queries
  • Maintain records of design changes and associated impacts
  • Assist with mock-ups, testing, and sample approvals

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Support Building Control submissions and statutory approvals
  • Assist in maintaining compliance documentation and audit trails
  • Contribute to Gateway requirements and Building Safety Act processes where applicable

Surveys, Access & Early Works

  • Help coordinate surveys, enabling works, and access planning
  • Support the development of access strategies and logistics planning
  • Assist with managing risks associated with live environments and occupied buildings

Health, Safety & Building Safety

  • Support safety-in-design reviews and risk identification processes
  • Assist in compiling pre-construction information and early-stage CPP inputs
  • Help ensure compliance with CDM and building safety requirements

Commercial & Procurement Support

  • Work with the commercial team to support cost planning and procurement activities
  • Assist with tender enquiries, package scoping, and supply chain engagement
  • Help track cost movements, risks, and value engineering opportunities

Information Management & Quality

  • Maintain document control in line with CDE protocols (e.g. Aconex)
  • Support the collation of QA documentation and Golden Thread information
  • Ensure accurate and structured record keeping across all pre-construction activities

Stakeholder & Resident Engagement

  • Support communication plans and coordination with resident liaison teams
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials and project updates
  • Help maintain logs for stakeholder issues, actions, and commitments

Handover to Delivery

  • Assist in preparing pre-start readiness documentation
  • Support the collation of design, risk, procurement, and compliance information
  • Help ensure a smooth handover to the delivery team

About You

  • Experience in a construction, design coordination, or pre-construction role (Assistant level or similar)
  • Understanding of construction processes and early project stages (PCSA experience desirable)
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication and ability to work across multiple teams
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a pre-construction environment
  • Knowledge of cladding, façade systems, or remediation projects (desirable but not essential)
