How you will create an impact

Positioning the business for sustained growth through developing and executing the UK / London Market Construction strategy, aligned with Global Construction and Underwriting strategies. Responsible for the regional P&L across all product lines and attraction, development and retention of top industry talent.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and execute UK / London market strategy that is aligned with the Global Construction Strategy
• Set and deliver objectives for regional P&L, including growth and profitability
• Working with the Global Product PLE's and set clear expectations around underwriting guidelines and ensure rating and pricing adequacy 
• Delegate underwriting authority in accordance with CUO framework
• Collaborating with Distribution and establish sales plans
• Develop business case for new products supported by distribution and underwriting strategies; mobilise the team and execute on plans
• Create shared understanding of overall Construction product and distribution strategy across AIG
• Build an inclusive culture where diverse teams flourish
• Working with HR, utilise tools and strategies to attract, develop and retain talent
• Ensure a reputation for UW excellence and service delivery in the marketplace
• Embed adherence to regulatory and compliance processes

What we’re looking for:

• Deep technical expertise gained through underwriting across Construction lines of business
• Proven track record in senior leadership roles,
• Extensive underwriting experience through different market cycles, utilising analytical and quantitative skills to underpin performance
• Implementing strategies on market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution, achieving successful delivery of business objectives
• Managing multiple customer and intermediary relationships
• Leading and engaging teams through transformation
• Insight: Strategic perspective, critical thinking and decision making
• Agility: Cultural adaptability, pace and future focus
• Relationships: Trust, communication, influencing multiple stakeholders and customer intimacy
• Commercial edge: Identifying and acting on emerging opportunities, leveraging the value proposition to drive growth
